  1. Studying and games -- especially war games. Oh to be a university student again! I would love to see a survey about how much time an 'average' university student spends involved in academic-related use, as opposed to communications and social media like Facebook and playing games. I am a bit cynical about the modern 'game culture', but a number of contemporary educational theorists, Mark Prensky is one, claim that games are the future of education. Certainly, when you think of the use of drones in the military being flown over Afghanistan by a young computer graduate behind a desk in New York, it is obvious that such simulation gaming can have serious applications. I wonder if the same would apply to learning a foreign language?
